what is the least amount you can offer to pay on a credit card judgment modification in connecticut
You will have to negotiate with your creditor who has received the judgment against you regarding the amount that you need to pay. If you want to modify the judgment, you can contact a judgment modification attorney who may help you file an appeal in the court. He may also help you negotiate with your creditor.

a "judgment modification attorney"?? i don't believe i have ever seen anyone advertise him/herself with that appellation. do they really exist? has the legal system become that specialized? wow.

honestly, though, delois...if that judgment was issued in small claims court, you can certainly contact that court and ask the question about what you might be able to do. generally, their orders for payment are not excessive, so you may not be able to wangle a deal at all. oh yeah...you really don't need a lawyer in small claims court.

if you had been sued in superior court and the judgment awarded there, then you'll likely want to be represented by counsel if you wish to have the judgment modified.

of course, if you speak with the creditor in question and work out an arrangement that overrides the judgment award, that's another thing. and it might behoove you to speak with the creditor in this case, though i suspect they'd be losing some of their legal rights if they agreed to a lesser amount than they've been awarded.
