My mortgage payment is current and I have awesome credit, for now at least. I willl continue to make my house payment during the modiifiation process. What will happen to my excellent credit by doing this?

Hi Stuart,

The effect of loan modification on your credit depends on many factors. It depends on whether the interest or the principal has been reduced, or whether the reduction is temporary or permanent. But if you keep making the payments as per the modification plan, it will not affect your credit negatively.
