I GOT BEHIND IN MY PROPERTY TAXES BECAUSE OF UNEMPLOYMENT,HUSBAND WAS DECEASED,I HAVE NEVER SEEMED TO BE ABLE TO CATCH UP. I HAVE A CERTAIN DATE TO COME UP WITH THE MONEY. I HAVE TRIED TO OBTAIN LOANS,BUT UNSUCCESSFUL.

Hi myproviderj,

Welcome to the forum.

I think you should inform the local Tax collector about your problem regarding paying tax. If you just avoid their calls and letter then it will make the worse. They may think that you are avoiding to pay tax. But if you communicate with them then they may agree to payment plan so that you can pay off the delinquent taxes.

Hello myproviderj,

Delinquent property taxes can be stressful for anyone. Try to work out a plan with you local taxing authority so that you can pay off the delinquent tax. Try to pay something with the payment plan as Larry has suggested above. It will not help if you do not pay anything. Even they can foreclose the tax lien after a specific period of time if you do not try to pay the delinquent taxes off.

Assess you situation properly and set aside a fund so that it would not happen again
