Make sure your name is also on title to the house.

Have an attorney draw up the purchase contract. If you are using a title company (required by lender), they will typcially require at least an attorney review of the purchase contract. Better to have no miscommunication and make sure you are protected.

you need to be on the title (tenants in common) that way you own 50% of the property and can give it to whom you chose should you choose.
