what is a mortgage (writer?)

I CLOSED ON MY HOME 7MONTHS AGO. I'VE JUST BEEN ASK BY MY ATTORNEY TO COME IN & SIGN A "WRITER". WHAT DOES THIS MEAN & WHY AFTER SO LONG? PLEASE HELP.

Welcome to the forums.

You need not worry if your attorney has asked you to come in and sign a writer. Although the closing is over, yet your attorney wants you to give in writing that all relevant documents related to the mortgage have been signed upon agreement between you and your lender.

The writer will make you do the relevant signatures wherever required to ensure that the mortgage deal has been fairly organized.
