Hi Bob,

Welcome to MortgageFit Forums.

Through a quit claim deed she can transfer her interest in the ownership of the property to your sister and your aunt.

But once it is transferred, she can't take it back as long as they do not transfer it back to her.

Feel free to ask if you have any more doubts.

God bless you.

For MortgageFit,
Samantha

Why do you think she may change her mind after the deed is made? If there is anything she likes to have for a temporary period of time, then advice her to take cautious steps.

As quit claim deed will make her lose control over the ownership interest again without the grantees' giving it back.

In 2006 my mother and I did a quick claim deed to add my sister to the deed. My mother has now passed away, is my sister now responsible for my mothers part of the mortgage, if not what is her responsibility.

Hi D Bryant,

Welcome to MortgageFit Forums!

I don't think that your sister will be responsible for the mortgages of your mother's part because she has only signed a quitclaim deed. In case, she had gone through the process of novation or refinance. If she had done so she would have been responsible for the mortgage. Your sister has the right to stay in that property.

Hope this will help you.

Thanks,

Jerry
