Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

To whom he had quitclaimed? Do a title search to know - who is the present owner of the property.

If your father is not the owner now then he needs not to pay taxes.

Best of luck,
Larry

Hi Imonia,

Welcome to the forum.

It doesn't seem that your grandmother has tricked you father. As she has quitclaimed the property to your father, you father should refinance the mortgage on his name only an d pay the mortgage payments.

Now if your father cannot make the mortgage payments, the he should talk with your grandmother and asked her if she is willing to take the property back on her name. If she do not want the property the n your father can sale off the property and pay the lender off.

Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.

Best of luck,
Larry
