Agree - not discharge it is 12 months of paid as agreed on a BK 13 with the permission of the court trustee.

It was a Chapter 7 bankruptcy and I am still undergoing surgeries although my wife works full time at around 50,000 per year and my credit score is still around a 650 It was filed a little over a year ago and discharged 8 months ago

Hi BRNoyle,

If it's a chapter 7 bankruptcy, then you will have to wait for 2 years from the discharge date to get FHA loans. Whereas for conventional loans, you'll have to wait till 4 years after the discharge. So, you will have to wait for some more time in order to get a mortgage.

Thanks

If you file for chapter 7 bankruptcy and thus, foreclose on your current underwater home, do you still have to wait 2 years for CalVet? Seems like since Calvet is a bond (not going through lenders), that they could offer the loan sooner and right after foreclosure has completed?

Why don't you directly contact the CalVet authorities and check out with them? I think they would be able to help you in the best possible way.
