Hi nicole.clark,

Welcome to MortgageFit Forums.

Many of the laws in Maryland do not permit prepayment penalties. Under some cases it is permissible.

Actually the contract language governs it. If it is included in the contract then it may be permissible. If the contract document does not contain anything on the matter then it is prohibited to charge.

Hope this information will help you. Feel free to ask if you require further clarifications.

God bless you.

For MortgageFit,
Samantha
