MortgageFit has redefined the roles and responsibilities for its forum moderators. We hope that this will give a new dimension to their work process and encourage them to do better and better.
What a moderator does
A moderator initiates or participates in discussions on various topics for a particular forum section. While doing so, he tries to involve others in the discussion - the purpose is to develop a sense of community, caring and togetherness.
Moderators also look out for abusive posts, unauthorized spam or advertisements, and copyright violations that go against our forum guidelines and terms of service. They have the rights to delete such posts. However, if such posts are repeated, moderators should report it to administrators for further course of action.

Signing up to become a moderator
It's simple and easy to be a moderator - you can start off by knowing our Community and its services. One you are familiar with all such details, you can sign up with us and be a part of our Community.
How to become a moderator
There are certain qualifying criteria for becoming a moderator.
- You have been participating actively in the forums and you have maintained a minimum of 100 posts.
- You have been giving some quality time regularly in order to help our members and guests with valuable information. And, you must have excellent reputation among our guests.
- You are well aware of our forum guidelines and practice them while using our forums.
Selecting the moderator
It's you who can reveal that you are willing to participate as a moderator. We have a group of members entrusted with the responsibility of reviewing your contribution to the forum. Based on a voting system, the members select you as the moderator provided you fulfill all the qualifying criteria.
Special powers of moderators
Being a moderator, you get additional powers and rights unlike any other member in our Community.
- Apart from creating new posts on any topic of your interest, you have the rights to edit or delete abusive or offensive posts. But such rights are limited to your moderated forum category only.
- If there are users trying to create disputes through their posts, then it's your responsibility to check for such spams and report it to the site admin on frequent repetitions. The admin may then ban such users from our forum.
Additional Responsibilities- As a moderator, you should keep away from commercial or self-promotional activities. You can freely talk about your organization, corporation, and personal website of any type. But you should not be promoting your site over and above MortgageFit.
- We require you to maintain professionalism at all times and respect others' opinions.
- You should avoid making spam posts and advertisements on other forum boards.
Benefits
As our forum moderator, you get the chance to earn rewards and recognition from the Community.
- Through regular participation in forums, you may qualify to become a mortgage mentor and be a part of our Mentor Club.
- For your valuable contribution, you may receive a blog where you can pen down your thoughts and ideas so that the whole world gets to know it.
- You will be part of the group that reviews the contributions of Community members and guests and then selects the moderator.
- You will also get your name enlisted in "Hall of Fame" (will be launched soon). All mentors completing 2 years with our Community will be awarded as the "Hall of Fame" and it shall remain forever. Such members will be getting an exclusive webpage where they can maintain their personal details.
These are some guidelines which we have decided upon by consulting various Community members. But we are always open to new ideas. So, if any moderator or member feels that he can suggest something for the better, then please let us know here. |
