Hi Mikek,

One thing that this will help is make people aware above this company and stay away from them. It is strange that Government is not taking any steps against them.

Hello all. I have been in contact with my local states attorney's office just for some general information and they mentioned to me that it might be possible to bring a class action suit against GRC. I had mentioned a few of the experiences you all have shared and they too feel that GRC is operating with less than legal principles and could be construed as fraud and misrepresentation. Any loans offered from legitimate banks always include contracts terms of service and terms of the loan. All loan documentation must be signed by both parties. After all a verbal contract isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Hence no paperwork, no loan and they are not legally bound to withdrawing from any of your accounts. You may have verbally agreed to the verbal terms explained to you but again if there is no paper trail GRC has no legal rights to your accounts.

Just as an update I received the second phone call from GRC since establishing this so called loan and this time I was speaking with I believe she said her name was Wendy. Oh she was nice as can be because they know I have them over a barrel because I borrowed the money and didn't pay one dime back, well less the $60 they initially. So she was going to try and reestablish a connection. I explained to her the dealings I had with her co-worker and I wasn't getting involved with a company with such rudeness. She asked how will I be repaying the debt and started asking for my checking account # and just for fun I said "what debt I never received any loan papers to sign or seen any contracts and I told her the money to me was a gift so why would I give the gift back?" The hostillity began again she now went into a screaming fit calling me a dead beat and a loser for not paying off my debts. Before she can finish I slammed the phone on her as payback. SHe has tried calling me at least 7 times and then she tried a *67 to hide the number. I answered and said you have the wrong # and slammed the phone on her again. She hasn't called back yet.

Hope this helps
Oh do not get stressed when they call with their scare tactics, have fun with it.

Hey Mike, thanks for sharing your experinece with us here. Indeed that's funny stuff. A lot of people get afraid and shout and lose patience. But seriously these guys ought to be taught a lesson. How much can they harrass and threaten people. It should be stopped. But I guess the only way out is some legal action to be taken against them. But if they could be stopped, I guess that would have happened since a long time. These guys keep on doing the same thing again and again! they don't follow business ethics or what.

Good day all, here is another exciting update. Just as my suspicions confirmed, I pulled up my credit report with Experian and just as I thought nothing about GRC or any other variation. I am going to order copies from the other two to see what they say. I have a feeling like all payday advance places they do not report to any credit agency. If this is the case I suggest you work with your banks for recovery of the funds GRC has withdrawn. Also place a block letting your bank know this is a fradulent company. The bank can file for chargebacks and go after the money. If need be shut down your checking account and reopen a new one and stipulate to the bank you do not authorize any transactions from GRC.

Just to recap the names they work under:
Geneva Roth Cap
Geneva Ventures
Rio Ventures
LoanPointUSA

Let your bank know immediately all the variations so they know who they are dealing with. Any other info I will post as soon as I have it.

I have never heard of this company before entil they started taking all my money out the account. I have never apply for a payday loan. So i put a stop to the ach for $60.00 and they went down one cent to $59.99. I'm going to change account. Let's see how smart they are when they try to take it out that account and it't closed. I love my bank and not going to change but I will open up a new account with my bank.

welcome Brown.

I feel this is a good decision. But you have not applied any loan from them but they are taking money out of your account? why don't you file a complaint against then with the FTC?

I took out my first pay day loan with them over a year ago and paid them back. I took aout anothe earlier this year and was making the payments as scheduled until i was laid off. I switched bank accounts and was going to start making apyment arrangements with them once I got back on my fett. Well, this woman Shirley Shaw just called me and said that they are going to take me to court. Can they do that? I'm scared. Has anyone been through this?

Hi Reeree.

Welcome to the forum.

I cannot threat you to send you in jail. This is against Fair Debt Collection Practice Act (FDCPA). You can even file a complaint against them for this reason.

Best of luck,
Larry

welcome Guest.

We can certainly file the class action lawsuit against this company to teach them a lesson. By the way have you filed any complaints against them with FTC or Attorney General's office in your state.

I have not filed a complaint against them. I live in MA - I have not found any good legal advise outside of contacting an attorney - don't have the money to do this. I did speak with someone at the MA division of banks and they advised me to close my bank account and change my phone number. I closed my account. However, I have not changed my number and they are also calling me at work.

Hello Guest.

If they are calling you at work or threatening you then it will be considered as violation of FDCPA. So why don't you file complaint with the FTC. You can do it even online.

You can made the complaints
* Telephone: (888) 382-1222 TDD: (866) 290-4236
* Online complaint form: https://www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplainCheck.aspx

Hope this will help you out.
