He is a first time buyer and my ex husband has taxes owed. I am trying to avoid a tax lien against my new husband and his house.

Hi annafmonty ,

Welcome to mortgagefit,

It is not necessary to add your name on the deed.So you need not worry about the tax liens on your husband's (new) home.

Feel free to ask any further query if you have...

Hi annafmonty!

Welcome to forums!

Unless you're staying in a community property state, it is not mandatory for you to add your name to the property which is being purchased by your husband.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
