Schedule a closing without Commitment Letter

I am a first time home buyer getting an FHA loan. Although I have yet to see a commitment letter in which my contract stipulate that I have to show one before 09/12, my broker/banker called me today to tell me we are cleared for closing since FHA QC has been cleared.

I have yet to see a commitment letter. Isn't this unusual? I did not get conditional commitment either.

Welcome Pinmjsam,

It's good that the FHA QC has been cleared. But you should receive a commitment letter. Just ask the lender about it once.

this is definitely unusual. you need to do some further investigating.
