What I've heard is, the Govt. is trying to extend the first time buyer tax credit beyond December 1, 2009. However, I've not heard of any possible extension of the debt relief act. But with many more foreclosures and default on the way, one can expect the Govt. to either extend or bring the mortgage forgiveness act in a modified form to relieve the struggling homeowners.
