can I qualify for a first time home owner,he will be keeping the old home with a quick deed and have my name removed from he loan.

Tazcap,

No you would not, because you already owned a home. If you did not own a home for a 3 year period there are programs out there that would allow for you to qualify for a first time home buyer.

As for your soon to be ex-spouse, he is refinancing the home to take your name off? This is the only way that he can take you off the mortgage. He he only removes your from the title, you would still be responsible for the mortgage.

Hi tazcop,

You will not qualify as a first time homeowner in this case. Those people who did not own a property in the last 3 years will qualify as a first time home owner. As you were a owner of the property, you will not be considered as a first time homeowner.
