Hi i will be purchasing a home with a private investor, such as a hard money loan. Will i qualify for the 8k tax credit next year if both mine and his name is on the deed or title? As he has owned alot more then 1 house. Thanks all advice would be great.

Hi Garysnober,

Yes, you may qualify for the first time home buyer's tax credit provided your name is on the title and the mortgage. As the other person has various other properties in his name, he will not be considered as a first time home buyer. If he is on the property deed, you may not get the benefit of first time home buyer tax credit.
