I am from the UK.
If i apply and am subsequently approved for DIL on my 'investment' property in Florida, will it affect my credit rating in the UK?

Hi guypea,

As the property is located in Florida, a deed in lieu of foreclosure won't affect your credit rating in UK. However, your credit rating in the US will get affected.

thanks for that, adonis. sounds like a good plan then as my short sale offer has been turned down as it is soooo far short of my principal balance. hope they go for it.

I have had my short sale rejected by the mortgage company as it is siad to be 'too far away from what i owe on principal balance'. the short sale offer is 35,000 and the balance outstanding is 160,000!!!!
Bearing in mind that i live in the uk, what will happen if i foreclose? I know they CAN chase me over here, but is that likely? and what can they do?
