Only my wifes name is on the mortgage for our home in Florida. Both of our names are on the deed. If we buy another home in michigan and put it in my name only, can the mortgage company go after that home for the deficiency judgement and can they put a lien on it since my name wasn't on the mortgage that was forclosed on in Florida?

Hi GAB,

If the second property is in your name, then the mortgage lender for the first property won't be able to come after the new property in order to recover his dues or put a lien on it.

Thanks
