My mother passed away in Florida and the estate is to go to probate. I am the executor and inherit everything with my brother. I have been asked to sign a quit claim deed, not sure why. There is an offer to buy the house.

Hi patsy,

Welcome to the forum.

You have been asked to sign a quitclaim deed to whom? Has your mother left any Will? If so then it will go to probate and then you and your brother will get the property according to the Will.

"There is an offer to buy the house." So do you want to sell the property?

Best of luck,
Larry

If the estate is in probate court, you should hire a probate attorney to advise you and represent your interests in court.
