My ex boyfriend and i bought a house in florida. Due to his very poor credit the mortgage is in my name only. At the time we had only one checking account open in his name, so all bills were paid out of this account, including the mortgage. He has since moved out and I've agreed to sell him my share of our business but I want to know for sure that he has no legal rights to my house or do i need to have him sign a quit claim. please answer asap as he wants me to sign the business over to him next week.

Hi BECLEAN,

You can sign over your share of business to him but that doesn't mean that your property will also be transferred to him. If his name is on the property deed, then you can ask him to transfer his share of the property to you so that you become the sole owner of the property.

Thanks
