I live in Florida and my mortgage and deed is in my name only. In 2006 the mortgage company processed the loan figuring in my income and my then-boyfriend's income. We got married, but are now separated and he is no longer contributing to the house payment. Would I qualify for a loan modification if I only have my income available now? Do I have to let my loan default for a couple months before they help me?

Hi JessinFL!

Welcome to forums!

Normally a lender will offer you a loan modification only if you're delinquent on your mortgage payments for few months. As the mortgage is in your name, the lender will take your income into consideration while giving you a loan modification.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
