I bought a house with my girlfriend three year's ago. We each put money down on the house. I put 210,000 and she put in 50,000 and mortgaged 80,000. We have split up and I would like the house. I just found out my name is on the note, but not on the mortgage. What does this mean? I can't get any information from the mortgage company. What happens if she defaults?

Hi

If you're on the note, it means you're responsible to pay off the loan on case the she defaults. By signing on the note, you actually make a written promise to repay the debt.
