I own a home in FL and was engaged. I added his name to my house in 1998 by Quick Claim Deed. My Fiance died 7 years ago leaving the house to me by a letter, not notorized. None of his family members have claimed any right to my home. Will I be able to file a Quick Claim Deed or Adverse Possession to put the home back in my name only? How is this Done?
Thank You
Confused

Hi Guest,

You will have to contact the local county recorder's office and file an affidavit of heirship. This will help you in transferring the property in your name.
