My mother and I are both on the deed to a condo, where she lives alone. She will be needing to move to a nursing home in the near future. We both have signed a quit claim deed (Joint Tenants w/ Rights of Survivorship). She has no savings to speak of, and Social Security and I are her only sources of income. Will she qualify for care w/o us having to liquidate the property? We live in Florida.

Hi handyman,

You need to contact the Department of Social Services(Family Support Division) of your state in order to know about Medicaid eligibility and to check whether or not your mother will qualify for it.

Thanks
