Have read a lot of useful info and thought Id add another tid-bit for those looking to mitigate their loses by renting their home in FL.

Whether thru job lose, transfer, or other good reasons if you rent and the Property Appraiser finds out, then your property taxes nearly double. You loose Homestead Exemption. Along with penalties (50%) and interest (15% pa) They are actively pursuing this and I know from ACTUAL experience.

I was trying to keep the place due to job lose and worked out of state. Now all this comes down so look out.
