We modified our first mortgage and our second was charged-off. We have been contacted by a debt collection agency to settle our debt. The problem is I am still out of work in Florida and have been to Indiana and West Virginia to work. Nothing big become of my trip financially. I found out my relatives were just as bad with money as I am.
I am going to a bank today to see if I can get a down payment for my settlement. I am expecting to get laughed out or thrown out. Either way it won't be pretty. We have been going down this road since 2008 and my wife and I are tired . Hope is always just around the corner. And I hope we make it there.

Hi zink,

I agree with you. You shouldn't lose your hope. You should contact your second lender and apply for a loan modification with him as well. If the second lender agrees to it, then you'll be able to get an affordable repayment plan to pay off the mortgage.

Take care

I am not sure they will make a modification. They already sent it to a collection agency and we have been talking for about a week or so. He wants a sizeable down payment and I have not yet found a lender. My bank gave me advice but no money. Thanks for writing me back.
