Is the spouse required to sign the mortgage in the state of Florida if they sign the deed?

Hi saralouarm!

Welcome to forums!

If your spouse wants to be a co-borrower of the mortgage, then he/she will have to sign the mortgage documents. However, it's not mandatory for the spouse to sign the mortgage docs.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Thank you for your response. I was told by a compliance officer of a financial institution in Utah that Florida law required the spouses signature on the mortgage if they signed the deed.

Are signatures on home loans required to be notarized?

Your lender will be the best person to let you know whether or not signatures on home loans are required.
