A friend and I moved to Florida. She got the mortgage and put me on the deed since I was paying to stay. the market crashed she lost her job. but I am being sued ....please help cannot sleep.

Hi Sunshine,

Your need to check out whether or not your name is on the mortgage. If your name is not on the mortgage, then you are not responsible for the mortgage payments. The lender will not be able to come after you for the dues. Moreover, if the property is foreclosed upon, then you won't be responsible for the deficient balance. However, if your name is on the mortgage docs, then you would be responsible for the payments.
