Hi Guest,

As far as I know, retirement funds, pension and SSI cannot be garnished by the creditors. They are exempt from garnishment.

Confused, a lender isn't very likely to even think about resorting to that sort of tactic after having foreclosed. I'm pretty certain you have naught to be concerned with there.

My name is on the deed, not the loan of a house that is about to go into foreclosure. will the foreclosure affect my credit?

As your name is not on the mortgage docs, the foreclosure will not affect your credit report in any way.

Something very important to know about credit reports:

Public records are picked up and reported by credit reporting agencies. A suit of foreclosure is a public record. Since a credit reporting agency will pick up and report the foreclosure on your credit report, you can count on the foreclosure "affecting" your credit.
