my dad passes away in dec 08 and his name and mine are on the mortgage but only his name is on the note. In June 2007 he quick claimed his prortion over to me. I just got served a summons reference the plaintiff against you seeking to foreclosea mortgage recorded in official instrument #200700181442 on the following property. Can I be sued if I did not sign the note?
banks do not "come after" anyone for taxes. taxes are due to taxing authorities, such as the internal revenue service, states and local municipalities. consequently, manoj, you've provided not so good advice for credithungry.

you also neglected to address the "pmi insurance" aspect of the question. that's a whole different issue, because the mortgage companies are having difficulty in this market also. despite that coverage, there still may be a shortfall, and you may, indeed, be taxed somewhere down the line.

check with the irs directly for detailed questions such as that.

could we please get more than just duplicative remarks? if you have something concrete to add, that's a wonderful thing. if all you can do is to parrot the preceding remarks, please leave well enough alone.
