My sister has been staying in her friends foreclosed home. The broker is now showing the property after he told my sister that she would be the first in line. Since she is in possession of the property already does that make her a bona fide purchaser?... They are trying to sell the property as a short sale. My sister has been here for 8 months. My sister was prequalified for the home 8 months ago.

Though your sister is in the possession of the property, I don't think it will make her a bona fide purchaser. If she has been pre-qualified for a loan, then she should take out the loan and purchase the property.
