i had a payday loan i guess i defaulted on when imy account got closed over a year ago. My sister and i now have a new account and Gen. Roth just make her/my account go neg. by taking the 399.75 out. Can they take unauthorized money out of a new joint checking account which was not the account used to get the loan in the forst place? does anyone know who i can contact to find out if theres something i can do about this or repay directly since she stopped payment on it?

Welcome Taauto,

Didn't the company send you any default notice? Please clarify from them if at all you are in default otherwise they can't just take out money from your account. And, even if you default they cannot take out unauthorized money that too from a new checking account. I'm surprized as to how they came to know about the new account.

In the very first place, you should contact the company representative and clear things out. Whether you can pay directly or not is again something that can be best answered by the representative.

Hi Taauto,

Welcome to the forum.

Adonis has given you sound suggestions. Contact the company directly and pay them off ASAP. If even after that they keep on taking money from your checking account, you should file a complaint in the attorney's office in your state.

Thanks,
Larry
