I live in Eastman, GA---I am a 30-yr. old single parent of 3 and I am in college full-time---I plan on moving to North Carolina in the next 2 years after completing my degree. I already know that I am not going to live in Eastman forever and I have been preparing for NC for awhile and I want to invest in something long-term for me and my family. So would this be a good idea.

Once you have narrowed your search to a city or town, call a Realtor there and have them send you relocation information. If you decide that the selected city or town will do, great. If not, keep looking.

If you can swing it, I'd rather see you visit these areas you are considering before committing to buying. Perhaps you could stay in a efficiency or extended stay type hotel rather than jumping into a house purchase.
