My wife and I are in a major bind. We just bought a home in Georgia with a VA loan. We closed 3 days ago and received keys and moved in. I just received a frantic call from seller that funds were not received? My wife and I are very upset to say the least. We have sunk our whole savings into this home plus have had modifications made etc... How is this legal?

You should immediately contact the lender and ask him to dispose the funds to the seller so that you do not lose the property.

I have been in contact with the lender and they said they're having trouble verifying my wifes employment? They will not distribute the funds even though we have already closed. It's a little late for them to throw this at us isn't it?

Hi Guest,

Verification of the income should be done prior to the closing. As you have already closed the mortgage, the lender should give you the funds right away.
