I am currently three months behind on my mortgage (With GMAC) -- waiting to hear from them about a modification... due to a death in the family and lapse in employment that happened at about the same time : ( ... There were storms here a few weeks ago that caused roof damage to my home and my insurance company will cover in approx. 9500 dollars for the repairs necessary and sent me a check.. I need to have it endorsed by my mortgage company now though and I'm "afraid" b/c of all the horror stories I've read about here online .. Does anyone know what happens when this happens? Will I be able to get my roof repaired? I'm just so afraid b/c obviously I don't have enough to cover my mortgage right now let alone that and repair my roof... Thanks for any help you can give me! | |||

I have a car loand on my credit with GREAT payment history since 2004. I also have a small loan at a financial instution (which I was told my lender to get) with GREAT payment history since May of this year. I have a couple of things from back in 2001 that are not good, I went thru a divorce. I had a voluntary repossession back in 2003 due to lost my job. I have a couple of department stores on there with excellent payment history. | |||

We tried to do a loan modification with Residential Mortgage LLc here in Anchorage, Alaska and was told that they do not do loan modifications. I am 5 months behind on my mortgage and just recently started working/got hired again because I had lost my jobback in July 2008. The job that I have now pays way less than before. My credit is bad because of losing my job and getting behind on payments. My interest rate is 8% or 8.25%. Whern I first talked to the lender about getting a loan I was supposed to get 4.25% but was not locked in and did not know. By the time the loan went thru it wentup to 8%. I have a 30 yr fixed loan. I live in rural Alaska. I can't afford to refinance no money for downpayment or closing. I'm not even sure if they will let me because my credit went to a tumble. My lender gave me 2 weeks to get caught up and not willing to work out any payment plans because of my payment history with them. Is there anything I can do to try not to lose my house. I am trying to get caught up with my mortgage payments. Is there anything I can do other than try to get my credit improved again? Do I have any other options? Thank you | |||

My Son and I are in business here in GA. We have notes to our bank for a lot and a spec house which the bank has collateral on. When we just re-signed the notes they had us sign a personal guarantee as well. If we quit claim deed our personal homes to our sons will that stop the bank from taking our homes should we fail on properties I menetioned above?P.S. Our wives never signed any paperwork. | |||

Yes, in response to your question, I am trying to ascertain if I am the victim of a mortgage fraud scam. My ex-fiance signed a disclosure form while applying for a mortgage note up here with me that may have been fraudulent. It turns out that he owns property in FL and did not disclose it.My question is: If a person signs a mortgage but not a note (I can't seem to find out if his name is on the note on the FL property with his now-ex-wife, so worst-case - I will assume that he is not on the note), is he required to disclose that mortgage (would that be considered a lien in the amount of the note?), his co-ownership of the property, and the taxes he must pay for it, when applying for a new mortgage up here in PA?Also, would he have to disclose that the first property had a lis pendens filed against it during the time of the application?If he doesn't disclose this information, and signs the disclosure and loan application up here, signs the new mortgage, and the new note on this new PA property, is that mortgage fraud?I am asking this because he won't sell, won't buy me out, and has trapped me into paying for taxes and mortgage payments that I should never have had to pay, and cannot afford. | |||

You mentioned "can not collect your dime" until you are a memeber.Does that mean those $ under our name, we can collect/get paid that money somehow.
