Sad I live in south Louisiana, I own 4 1/2 acres free/clear, credit not that great, earn little over 100k yearly.........want to desperately build a house, need a small loan..........what can we do? ? ? ?

If the property is worth more than you will need for a loan and/or you have additional assets FIRST talk to your local bank. I don't mean your local Bank of America or Wells Fargo either. Find a small community bank, the decision on your loan will be made and kept in house (very important for you right now in this economy).

Be careful with those stats and seeming some what desperate to get a loan I have no doubt someone WILL try to scam you.

Correct go to a local bank and see what they can offer and do for you.
