Can a spouse just be on the deed and not have their credit or income checked for the actual loan for a house?

I have horrible credit due to a horrible divorce. Would I be allowed to only be on the deed? In the state of Texas can my credit and income not be looked at if my fiance's is sufficient? We are trying to decide whether or not to postpone our upcoming wedding in 2010.

But since you do not have good credit, you cannot co-sign on the mortgage. If your fiance has sufficient credit score and income, she can qualify for the loan on her own. Your income, debt and credit will not be looked into in that case.
