Hi, Yes FHA requires a minimum of 620 fico score. There are a lot of other factors that come into getting a fha loan. They will also look at work history, debt, bank statements, recent pay stubs. Hope this helps

I'll have to disagree with the previous post, HUD does not actually set a minimum credit score, this may be the sponsoring lenders overlay setting this credit score requirement. You can read the 4155 available on HUDs website which includes the credit guidelines to obtain a FHA insured loan. In fact HUD/FHA loan program will actually allow the use of non-traditional credit should the repository credit report be not established enough, however it cannot be used to help offset bad credit if that is the reasoning for the low score. At any rate there should be lenders out there willing to offer you FHA financing with a 635 credit score depending on other factors that may weigh in on the actual credit underwriting requirement. I would suggest you speak with a broker/banker in regards to your options.

635 is sufficient enough to qualify for credit worthiness via FHA. Although there is no set credit score requirement, the reality is we do face minimum score requirements with 99% of the lenders doing FHA. As stated above, there are other factors but with the credit score being over 620 you are ok to at least submit an application for qualifying. I hope this helps...
