I have a "Federal Home loan Mortgage Corp. Fredienotes" 6.1 % due on 07/15/27, dated 07/12/07. Can you tell me if this is a Bond? if not what else do I need to know . This was purchase through Edward Jones

If the maturities of these notes are more than 10 years then it will be called Bonds. So these are not bonds as you have bought these not more than 10 years ago.
