Homeowner insurance

Hi guys,

I see many people coming to your forums and providing some breaking news. i thought of doing so too, thinking it may help the community.

After the Katrina disaster, most homeowner insurance companies have been unable to pay off Katrina victims and surprisingly the claims are all valid. although the insurance commissioners of Missisippi, Alabama and Louisiana have send warnings to insurance companies about the consequences of failing to fulfill the valid claims, yet most of them have paid no attention to what the authorities have said.

Most people are saying that it will take a long time to settle those claims. but i think this is unfair, as insurance companies should know that the victims need immediate help. But these companies are insisting the homeowner to first accept a small payment and then with time they will be making the bulk of the claims.

I agree with you in this matter. I have also seen a lot people filing complaints against the insurance companies for failing to respond to their claims after the Katrina disaster.

This is really disheartening to find such negative and reluctant attitude of these companies during this period of emergency. Many reputed companies are also amongst them.

People do insure their assets with these companies, so that they can get appropriate compensation and stabilize somewhat after any unwanted damage to their property. If the response of the companies remain such then people are going to lose faith in them.

It's good to see your concern on such a crucial matter which has affected most of us. I really feel that U.S. govt. should take strict action against such irresponsible and unfaithful companies.
