Is Illinoi a walk away anti-deficiency state or do i have to file bankruptcy in order to avoid a deficiency judgment.

Hi Ricardo,

As far as I know, Illinois is not an anti-deficiency state. It does not have anti-deficiency statutes which other states like California have. However, there are certain provisions in Illinois statutes, which can help a borrower avoid deficiency judgment. You need to contact a lawyer practicing in Illinois to know more about these provisions.
