|
|
I inherited a home from my mother several years ago but it has been held in trust with my uncle as trustee.
My uncle and I both agree it would be easier now if the house were in my name, but he lives in Illinois and we weren't planning a visit anytime soon. Meanwhile I notice that the Virginia quitclaim deed seems to imply that it must be notarized in-state.
Is this true? If so, is there another kind of form I could use that I can get online, without paying for an attorney, that would be valid?
(The mortgage is now paid off, if that matters.) |

truly, the only way to comment on virginia law is to know the laws of the state of virginia. you can call the attorney general's office and, perhaps, get your answer. the next best bet is, of course, to speak with an attorney. _________________ George M. Akerley
