hello--my neighbor wants to buy a small piece of property from me. He needs a little more space--I am willing to sell off a piece of mine to basically square off the property line. He wants to use the Quit Claim deed drawn up by his attorney--I have asked the County assessors and they don't recommend selling the property that way. They question property line surveys, etc. Any reason not to use the quit claim deed--only about 1k involved in transaction. thanks--ken in illinois

Hi ken!

Welcome to forums!

It would be better if you could follow what the county assessors have told you. This would make the selling of that small piece of property legal and later on you won't have to face any legal issues.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
