He wants to get the refi done before the divorce is final. What is the process at the time of the closing to secure me that I get my money out of the house? I am in Illinois

You need to consult a lawyer in this regard. Generally, after the divorce, the court orders the refinance of the property and mentions about the payment to the ex-spouse. Sussane
