Indiana takes legal action against Countrywide

Shared by Sara on Mon Aug 25, 2008 5:11 am

Indiana will be taking legal action against mortgage giant Countrywide Home Loans Inc. which has been deceiving borrowers with higher costs and risky mortgages. The lawsuit was filed by Attorney General Steve Carter. And it states clearly about the deceitful practices of Countrywide. By doing this, Indiana joins other states which have already taken legal action against the mortgage company.

Hi Sara.

California, Florida, Illinois, Connecticut have also taken legal action against Countrywide this year for the deceitful practice. Indiana also claimed $15,500 for investigative costs and compensation of the consumers. Washington has even threatened to cancel lending license of so called mortgage giant Countrywide Home Loans Inc.

Best of luck,
Larry
