You will be provided with a certain amount of time to accept the offer and close the loan. You should take a counselor's help in reading and properly understanding the commitment letter before agreeing to all the clauses mentioned and signing it.

Closing normally takes around 30 to 90 days but he should try ensure that closing takes place before the mentioned expiration of the commitment letter.
