Getting a mortgage after preapproval?

My husband and I just bid on a house and it was accepted. After the home inspection, if all is well we will apply for the mortgage.

We have been preapproved. My husband has good credit and mine is borderline poor. If we have been preapproved already, should I be worried about possibly being rejected for the mortgage when we apply, due to my less then perfect credit history?

As you said that your husband has good credit - and if you take the loan on your husband name then I dont see any reason that you will be rejected for the mortgage.

I would like to know the primary earner amongst you. Also what are your and your husband's score?

See if your husband is the primary earner and his income let him qualify for the mortgage alone then it's better if he applies for the mortgage alone in his name.

This will help you to get a good rate on the mortgage. If his income doesn't let him qualify alone then you can go for stated.

A good broker in your area can guide you well after checking your income, expenses and your scores.
