jacob you need to bump your score to at least 620 to qualify as a borrower. obviously your fiancee's score is terrific. if you have overdue payments, you'll want to pay them right away, and if you have collection accounts, you'll want to settle up with them as soon as you can also. doing so should move your score upward. you don't need to hire anyone to do this - you can go to www.annualcreditreport.com and see the reports from all 3 credit agencies, and then figure out who you owe, contact them and make arrangements to pay them. don't buy your scores - it's not worth the money. once you've paid everyone, give it a few weeks or so and you ought to see improved scores. in the meantime, don't go shopping for any credit - it will not help your scores at all.
