Hi blade,

If your mother's name is mentioned on the property deed, then she will be considered as one of the owners of the property. Your grandmother's husband will not be able to come after your mother and force her to sign her share of the property to him. If he is forcing your mother to do so, then she should get in touch with an attorney and take his opinion.

Thanks

So mom and grandmom each own 50% of house. Grandmom dies. Grandmom's Husband may or may not be entitled to all of part of gradmom's part of the house. It will depend on the laws there, what's in her will, etc.

I would tell you that your mother needs to talk to a qualified attorney as soon as possible.
