Can mortgage companies apply my mortgage payment to only the interest? It that legal?? This is my 2nd mortgage and it was with GMAC and now it is being serviced by Green Tree.

Hi rjenterprises,

If you have opted for a interest only mortgage payment, then the lender will apply the payments to the interest payments only.

Thanks,
